When Smart Money Sees the Ceiling
Something shifted in early February. xAI merged with SpaceX. Eric Schmidt took over a rocket manufacturing company. Sam Altman explored acquiring a launch startup. Google announced plans to test space-based data infrastructure.
Most people shrugged. Tech billionaires doing tech billionaire things. But here's what caught my attention: These aren't moonshot side projects. These are billion-dollar infrastructure bets by people who've already won the current game.
By 2030, data centers could consume 10% of U.S. electricity. Grid operators are already warning about capacity constraints. Power availability is becoming the bottleneck, not capital or demand.
The hyperscale land rush isn't over. But it's maturing. The winners in the next phase won't be chasing the biggest campuses in the cheapest markets. They'll be positioning for what becomes essential when growth hits real limits.
Skate to Where the Puck Is Going
Wayne Gretzky's advice applies to more than hockey. Don't skate to where the puck is. Skate to where it's going.
Right now, most investors are skating to where the puck was two years ago. Fighting for hyperscale sites. Bidding up land in markets that already hit capacity constraints.
The Alpha mindset: Don't chase hype. Don't ignore signals. Do position for constraints.
Here's to building your success, one step at a time - from the dirt up.
